The most potential junior tennis player in Indonesia, Tami Grende, a resident of Denpasar, Bali was successfully claiming doubles title with her Japanese partner, Yuriko Miyazaki in “Hong Kong Open Junior Tennis Championship 2011” being held at Victoria Park Tennis Complex, Hong Kong on Friday (October 7).

The Tournament of Champions, the only Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) sanctioned event in Indonesia, will no longer be held in Bali after this year’s event due to sponsorship issues.

On this upcoming Monday, July 4, 2011, Tami Grende of Indonesia will make history by playing ITF LTAT G4 (4-10 July 2011) tournament with her new doubles partner Amit Lev Ari from Israel. The Israeli team is participating in the ITF circuit in Bangkok for 2 weeks with their coach and manager Michael Darmon. Tami was spotted and approached by the Israeli team and was offered to be sponsored by a local company. Tami will participate in Messika Open, an ITF Grade 3 tournament to be held in Israel from October 12 to 16, 2011. Tami will become the first Indonesian player ever to play a tournament in Israel.

Tami Grende, successfully combines Champion title at the ITF tournament Jubilee School U-14 Asian Championship 2001 which was held at the Kemayoran Tennis Center. In single party beat Arina Folts (Uzbekistan) with a score of 61/61. In a double party, paired with Arina Folts (Uzbekistan) defeated pair Kang (China)/Vasupongchai (Thailand) 60/61.

A tennis prodigy Tami Grende was born in Denpasar, Bali on June 22, 1997 and recently she was in the limelight after she claimed 4 titles, singles and doubles, in 2 weeks event known as “ITF Jubilee School 14 & Under Asian Championships” which was held in Jakarta. Tami is the first and only Indonesian player who managed to grab four titles in the history of this event. Tami was eligible to play for this championship based on her excellent outcome to be undefeated in National Selection for 14 & Under last January and as she came out as the winner last week, she will be given the opportunity to be part of ITF Touring Team funded by ITF Junior Grand Slam Development. Tami will play 5 tournaments in a row starting from France, Germany, Holland and Belgium from the first week of July 2011.
