Bali Flames light up the island! // Thu, 01 Apr 10
On Saturday March 27, the Bali Flames Netball Club hosted their annual Netball in Paradise tournament. Singapore Cricket Club and the Perth Saints arrived in Bali for some sunshine, shopping and managed to fit a game of Netball in between.

It was the Singapore Cricket Club, Perth Saints and two Bali Flames sides who made their way down to the courts on a sundrenched Saturday morning. By the first whistle everyone was eagerly anticipating the scores and cheering for not only their own team but their opponents as well. The Bali Flames were off to an amazing start, which was possibly influenced by our hot pink Surfer Girl uniforms!
The event was kindly held by the Bali International School where all four teams fought it out to be the honourable 2010 Champions and of course have all bragging rights for the next year. The amazing weather and social atmosphere were enjoyed by all players, family and friends. The half time orange runs from the flames team manager and mascot Bella, proved to be a crowd pleaser.
After working up a sweat, it was the Bali Flames and the Singapore Cricket Club who battled it out in a nail biting grand final. After a close second half, Singapore defeated our Flames; 15 – 11. As Rebecca our event MC stated at the awards ceremony, “Remember ladies and gentlemen, Netball is the winner today!”
After the tournament followed a function at Mannekepis Jazz and Blues Bistro which was a great chance for everyone to eat great food, share a few drinks and unwind from the day.
A big thanks goes out to our event and raffle sponsors AJ Hacket, Mundaka, The Beach House, Bali Stones, The Umalas Equestrian Resort, Glo Salon, Tainted Fashion, Ayana Resort and Spa and Bali Learn to Surf. Without these sponsors we would not have been able to raise much needed funds to send the Bali Flames to the Bangkok tournament in May.
The Bali Flames Netball Club play socially at the Bali International School every Tuesday night from 6-7pm. Everyone is welcome to come down for a social game and a bit of fun. We are serious about not taking our netball serious.
