The Bali Geckos again have to be content with being the second best Aussie Rules team in Asia after being defeated by the Hong Kong Dragons in the 2007 Asian Australian Football Championships, held in Bangkok recently. In a thrilling grand final, the Geckos relinquished their lead to the more experienced Hong Kong team, with the final going into extra time in a match that had the noisy crowd of more than 1,000 on the edge of their seats.

Bali Boy Gets Chance at the Big League // Tue, 20 Nov 07
Gareth Fitzgerald, one of Bali International School’s longest serving students has been ‘scouted’ for a two week soccer trials camp with various Italian Clubs, commencing on the 25th November. From there he will hope to trial at several other European Clubs. Since leaving BIS aged 15, he attended John Curtin Specialist Soccer School in Australia for three years. He played for Fremantle City and Western Knights U18’s teams in WA and is now setting his sights on Europe. “Gazza” is launching his own fundraiser in the short time left and now needs your help.
