Dear All,
As I look out over the traffic of Jakarta,I must say Bali ain’t bad.
Sure we have pollution,rampant development,migration and the ubiqitous corruption,but compared to what the Big Durian offers ,makes us appreciate our little island of the gods.
In Bali the Bali Flames Netball club take on a team from Thailand.
In Jakarta the Bali Rugby Club take part inthe Jakarta 10’s.
This weeks video 3 Bali Rugby players selected tn the national team at the training camp.
Whilst on the topic of rugby,to prove that rugby is not just brawn,three ex-Bali rugby players represent Australia at Sudoku in India.
In football the Bali Bulldogs get their first win of the season.
And Bali’s finest Oka Sulaksana gets his olympic preparations under way.

Sebang 1 – 3 Bali Bulldogs // Mon, 05 May 08
After a season of unfortunate results, the Bali Bulldogs finally got their first win of the 2008 season playing in their changed yellow strip.
An early scare saw the referee award the home team a penalty in the first five minutes after it was adjudged that there was a handball in the box, which fortunately Sebang failed to convert.

Bali welcomed back Bali International School teacher Hamish Sutherland who represented Australia at the recent World Sudoku Championships.
Together with two other members of the semi-legendary Bali Chooks Rugby team and Mick Colliss who recently MC’ed the season opening party for Bali Rugby Club in March,proving that rugby players are not just big boofy blokes,the Australian team set the following records,.

FC Mucky Duck 2 – 0 Bali Bulldogs // Wed, 30 Apr 08
The Bali Bulldogs worst run of results continued last week, albeit unfortunately, after a spirited display against FC Mucky Duck in the centre of Ubud on a pitch that in areas that was more similar to concrete than a playing surface.
The Bali Bulldogs laid siege to the opponent’s goal throughout the course of the game but could not find themselves the elusive goal, with some not so clinical finishing, that would have brought them back into the match after Mucky Duck taking the lead in the early moments of the match.

With 15 teams in the tournament BRC Captain Mick Serong,is concerned about the player attrition in such a big tournament held over one day.

Well I guess that is because you weren’t one of the privileged few that were invited to the relay event at the Bung Karno Sports Centre. And we guess that aside from the 5,000 celebrities and politicians that witnessed the event, that some of the 2,500 police guarding the event may have got a peek at the torch as well! “
